MOU CEREMONY BETWEEN NKTB AND PANASONIC ELECTRIC WORKS KENAF (M) Sdn. Bhd (PEWKM)

The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) ceremony between the National Kenaf Tobacco Board (NKTB) and Panasonic Electric Works Kenaf (M) Sdn. Bhd (PEWKM) marks an important step taken by the Ministry to promote the development of the Malaysia Kenaf industry. The MOU aims to provide the necessary framework for the development of kenaf industry through smart and equal partnership and providing necessary arrangement for the cultivation, processing and supply of kenaf fibers. At the moment PEWKM required a minimum 600 ton Kenaf fiber monthly for the production of the Kenaf Fibreboard at this factory in Semambu, Kuantan. Currently, the fibers are imported from Bangladesh , Myanmar and Thailand.
