Mission :

 

For the Legal Department-

  • A recognition for its competence, professionalism and being responsive in providing legal advice;

  • Is capable of making sound decisions taking into consideration public interest, fairness and for continuous benefit of the country.
   

Vision :

 

Committed to provide legal advice to the Ministry in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Constitution and other laws of the Ministry.

   
Functions :  

To monitor all Ministry's Divisions in following matters:

  • To advise and render legal opinion on municipal and interrnational law matters, verbally and written in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, other laws of the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities and the international law;

  • Drafting legaslations (Bill), amending the Acts of the Ministry and its subsidiary laws;
  • Attending and participating in negotiations, meetings, discussions with and outside Malaysia including international conferences;
  • Drafting, vetting and approving legal documents;
  • Assist in the preparation of the Cabinet Memorandum;
  • Carrying out research or study in ralation to laws as directed by the Government;
  • Conduct lectures and briefing on laws;
  • Represent the Government in court cases.
