Information and Communication Technology Division (TMK)

ROLE

Responsible for the development of the Ministry's information technology and communication system.

FUNCTION

• Drafting and implementing the Ministry’s ICT security policy.

• Overseeing and ensuring information technology and communication services at the Ministry’s Data Centre are well functioned.

• Offering ICT related technical assistance at the Ministry.

• Operating the help desk to assist Ministry’s personnels in matters pertaining to ICT.

• Ensuring and managing the safety of the Ministry’s database in accordance  to the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) procedures.

• Developing and maintaining the Ministry’s website.

• Managing the procurement, distribution and maintenance of the Ministry’s ICT  hardware and software.

• Ensuring the Ministry’s internet network is functioning well.

• Overseeing and monitoring the network security from infringements.

• Developing generic applications to facilitate information sharing efforts between  the Ministry and its agencies.

• Developing the Ministry's ePortal to facilitate the public in accessing information on commodities.

• Providing ICT training to the Ministry’s personnel.
